During our first year on the road we tried to visit the Petrified Forest National Park on 2/18/2019 but it snowed so much overnight that NPS never opened the park. Just over three years later we were ready to try again. Petrified Forest National Park take two!

Read MoreWe got on the bus headed to Bright Angel Lodge and while the bus was stopped at the Train Depot the driver told us that the Grand Canyon steam locomotive was pulling in. We jumped off the bus and watched The Train pull in. It was so cool to watch the train go by and the horn sounded awesome. Later as we hiked Rim Trail up to Trailview Overlook we looked back across the Grand Canyon towards the Train Depot and we could see the steam from the train over the treeline. That was really neat!

Read MoreOnce we got through the mud we turned onto Route 66 and we were on our way. The clouds, sun, and mountains were really pretty. I love how clean everything is after the rain. Along the way, we came across the Burma Shave signs. These were a series of rhyming signs with the last sign having the Burma Shave name.
