Michigan
Looking for places to visit in Michigan? Wondering what to do in Michigan? We share our favorites as we travel the country.
Start with one of these.
Riding our bikes to downtown Traverse City, MI
Mackinac Bridge in Mackinaw City, MI
The 200-foot-wide Upper Falls in Tahquamenon Falls State Park is one of the largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River.
Walking on the beach at Muskallonge Lake State Park in Newberry, MI.
Located on the north shore of Lake Michigan's Manistique Bay and right next to the beach!
We enjoyed a sunset cruise to see the beautiful Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, on the south shore of Lake Superior, in Munising MI.
Van Riper State Park features 1.5 miles of fine sandy beaches on Lake Michigamme, which was a nice change from the rocky shoreline in Copper Harbor. There is also a play yard on the beach and I took the opportunity to enjoy the swings.
We camped at Fort Wilkins Historic State Park in Copper Harbor. We picked this location to watch the 4th of July fireworks show over Lake Superior.
State #26 was Michigan! Specifically, the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (UP). The state parks in the UP ended up being a highlight of our summer 2022 adventures. We definitely want to spend another summer in the UP.
Camping at Turn 2 Retreat for NASCAR at Michigan International Speedway
