Securing Refrigerator Contents for Travel

October 19, 2024

We have a residential refrigerator in our motorhome and Penguin loves to cook so we typically have a very full refrigerator. For the first few years I used pool noodles to secure the contents of our refrigerator, but a few years ago I upgraded to this custom net solution that I made and absolutely love. It has saved us so many times. If an object slips off the shelf it is caught in the net and doesn’t come tumbling out when we open the refrigerator door.

Our Solution:

  1. Customized this Rear Cargo Trunk Net found here on Amazon by cutting it to fit our refrigerator space.
  2. Attached the cargo net to the refrigerator shelves using self-adhesive clips from Dollar Tree.
  3. Upgraded the adhesive by removing the adhesive that came with the clips and using Gorilla Max Strength Mounting Tape in black that can be found at Walmart.
  4. Used storage containers.

Tips:

Make sure you attach the clips on the furthest edge of the shelf so they don’t get hit and break when you take items in and out

I vary the direction of the clips with some being turned up and some being turned down.
