Christmas in an RV

When we moved into our motorhome I had to downsize my holiday decorations but I still wanted to decorate for the holidays. Being in a small space with cats makes Christmas decorating even more fun :) Get my tricks for decorating for Christmas in a small space with cats, and the delicious meal we made for Christmas dinner. Christmas in an RV

Christmas Decorations

We stopped buying real Christmas trees after the cats’ second Christmas in our house. The cats were always making a mess with the tree and Nacho would eat it and vomit. Instead I bought this fake tree from Amazon and I love it! It is the perfect little Christmas tree and a change from the typical tree.

I keep the Christmas decorations simple. They have to withstand being knocked over by the cats, and I have to leave enough room for the cats to walk around the decorations.

So how did I decorate? I used these Klippy Klips from Amazon along with some ribbon from the dollar store to hang holiday cards and pictures from the cabinet knobs.

I hung our wooden photo ornaments from the other cabinet knobs. I put a few penguin decorations near the table that are heavier and could withstand being knocked over by a cat. I put the tree on the dash and I find this works the best since that is our largest area. Even with the tree on the dash the cats have room to hang out and sleep so they leave it alone for the most part. Our stockings hang from the cabinet knobs above the dash.

Christmas Dinner

A few days before Christmas we headed to Costco and bought two ribeye cap steaks. For the holidays it seems like Costco carries smaller steaks which is nice since it’s only the two of us. For Christmas dinner we had the ribeye cap steaks with a mushroom peppercorn gravy, baked potatoes (rubbed with Montreal steak seasoning) with all the fixings (butter, bacon, sour cream and chives), corn and broccoli. Everything was delicious and there was leftovers. Nothing like having an awesome meal twice. The cats got a special Christmas meal too!
