Bend, OR to California by RV
We left Bend, OR, and headed West to Eugene and then started South back to California. Where did we stay and what did we do? Two highlights were eating delicious, super fresh Dungeness Crab, and snowshoeing at Crater Lake National Park. Don’t have time to read this now? Pin it for later!
Bend, OR

Eugene, OR: Premier RV Resort
Decent monthly rate of $645/month (Dec & Jan) + electricity.
The downside was it rained almost the entire time we were there but January was Dungeness Crab season and the fresh crab was worth the rain. Read about it in our Unbelievably Fresh Dungeness Crab in Eugene article.
Eugene also had a great Asian market. Check out our Surprising Selection at Sunrise Asian Market Eugene, OR article.
Canyonville, OR: Seven Feathers Casino Resort
Our original plan was to dry camp in their parking lot but on our drive down I-5, we saw a billboard advertising $9.99/night for full hookups at the Seven Feathers RV Resorts. Yes! We will take that deal. We stayed for three nights.
The casino had good specials such as the Prime Rib dinner for $12.99 with players club card and we both won on the slot machines. The free casino shuttle would even pick you up at your site in the RV park.
Prospect, OR: Joseph H. Stewart State Recreation Area
During the winter months, there is only electricity at the site, with no water. There was a dump station at the entrance to the park that was functional.
Great spot for visiting Crater Lake National Park. During the winter on the weekends they have Ranger-led snowshoe hikes. We definitely recommend you take one. Read about our experience in our Snowshoeing with a Park Ranger at Crater Lake article.
Central Point, OR: Costco Gasoline
Diesel and regular gas. We filled up the motorhome and Jeep.
Easy entry and exit.
Redding, CA: Stayed with family and did lots of sightseeing.

Trinidad, CA:
Driving on CA-299 was slow going but we had no issues with our 37’ class A towing a Jeep.
There were a good number of turnouts and we used a lot of them to let people pass us.
Took us 4 hours and 30 minutes to drive the 160 miles from Palo Cedro, CA to Cher-Ae Heights Casino in Trinidad.
Get the details about Cher-Ae Heights Casino and where did we go next in our Highway 101 by RV route.
