On our way to Spokane, we found a great free overnight RV parking spot at 50,000 Silver Dollar in Haugan, Montana. They had an enormous gift shop, bar, casino, and Inn. Behind the casino was the Silver Dollar Inn Campground, which had free overnight RV parking including some spots with free electricity!
Devils Tower was the first national monument, declared on September 24, 1906. It is an igneous rock formation coming out of the ground formed from a magma intrusion and looks very different from the surrounding landscape.
I wanted to go to Yellowstone to see the wildlife and I ended up being surprised by the hydrothermal features. I knew Old Faithful was at Yellowstone but I had no idea about anything else. We share our photo gallery and videos of the fascinating hydrothermal features and wildlife at Yellowstone National Park.
We recommend you drive the Scenic Loop and hike all the features. Then hike all the caves but just make sure you understand the restrictions. Don't make the same mistake we did! Thinking about visiting Craters of the Moon? We share cave hike restrictions, maps, camping, and our photo gallery.
