Arkansas
Looking for places to visit in Arkansas? Wondering what to do in Arkansas? We share our favorites as we travel the country.
Start with one of these.
Planning a visit to Arkansas? We highly recommend you camp at the stunning Petit Jean State Park. Campground A is right along Lake Bailey and site #18 has great views of the lake. As you walk along the lake you reach a creek with 20 miles of awesome hiking trails, including the hike down to the beautiful Cedar Falls.
Planning a visit to the Hot Springs Arkansas Bath Houses? Trying to decide Buckstaff vs Quapaw? Get our comparison of Buckstaff Bathhouse and Quapaw Bathhouse. Including services, cost, our experience and where to find free parking.
We headed to downtown Hot Springs to check out the Visitor Center, see the historic Bathhouse Row and hike Hot Springs National Park to Hot Springs Mountain Tower. If hiking is not your thing you can also drive up to Hot Springs Mountain Tower. We like a challenge so we hiked it. The view from the Hot Springs Mountain Tower observation deck is beautiful!
We decided to go a little off our original route as the campground we had reserved was closed due to flooding on the Arkansas river. We found another Passport America deal and decided to spend four days at Eureka Springs, AR in the northwest part of the state. It’s a popular tourist town so it has a decent amount of restaurants, boutique shopping, bars, hotels, etc…
